Your First Visit

Your first visit generally includes a Comprehensive Dental Examination. We will diagnose your unique dental needs, learn your desires, and discuss how we will fulfill them. We will visually examine your mouth for signs of oral cancer and dental abnormalities such as decay, missing teeth, jaw dysfunction and any defective fillings.

Generally, the initial adult visit includes a full set of x-rays, routine cleaning and polishing, oral hygiene instructions, oral cancer screening (Identifi), periodontal diagnosis and a full treatment plan. For those patients who have had regular dental care, a routine cleaning will likely be performed at this visit. We pride ourselves in being incredibly thorough and clients often share it is the best two hours they’ve ever spent at a dental office!

Comprehensive Treatment

If any signs of periodontal disease are present, more comprehensive treatment may be recommended. If you are interested in improving your smile, we urge you to view our Smile Gallery to view examples of what we have done for others. We are happy to offer you a Cosmetic Consultation at no fee or to offer you a second opinion on your options. We can also show you cases similar to your own which we have completed in the past.

Your Appointment

After gathering data about your oral health status, we’ll share our findings and photos with you in the consultation room. By explaining what we found in easy-to-understand language and with visual aids presented on a monitor, you’ll understand your situation. The dentist will also present treatment options and may show you videos of procedures so that you fully comprehend your options. Armed with knowledge, you can make informed decisions about treatment. We will also consult with you on payment options if you would like. With creative financing, almost anyone can afford the dental care they want and need. Our dental office features a before-and-after photo studio for patients who undergo cosmetic or extensive restorative dental work. View our patient photo gallery here.

Payment Details

Payment for services is due at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. In addition, we offer CareCredit and Lending Club, a patient payment program offering a full range of no interest and extended payment plans. We offer a 5% discount if service is paid in full by cash or check for treatments over $1000.

Insurance Policy

Due to the high standard of care received at our office, we do not participate directly with insurance companies. Our policy is in place so that our patients can fully enjoy the quality care we provide here at Old Town Smiles without the limitations and exclusions of insurance companies.

While we are considered out of network, we are always happy to file your insurance claims for you so you can take full advantage of any benefits you may have. Your insurance company will reimburse you directly.

Cancellations & Missed Appointments

We understand that life happens, and patients are not always able to keep their assigned appointment times. We kindly ask that if you are running late for your appointment, please call us at your earliest convenience to let us know. At that time, we will do our best to accommodate you. Please be advised that if you are over 15 minutes late to your appointment, we reserve the right to cancel your appointment in order to stay on time and respect our other patient’s appointments. A broken appointment fee of $175 will be incurred at that time (this may be per hour in the case of an extended appointment time), and this small penalty will need to be taken care of prior to booking your next appointment.Regarding no-shows and last-minute cancellations: our priority is making sure we respect the schedules of our patients and we make every effort to remain on time in order to do so. While we understand that sickness, work conflicts, and other personal matters may require you to miss your appointment at the last minute, we may ask that you pre-pay for your next appointment at our discretion.

Thank You!

We hope to surpass all of your expectations and make this a wonderful experience for you. Dentistry now offers many new opportunities for improved health, function, and appearance that were unavailable only a few years ago. Our teams’ primary goal is to serve you. We look forward to meeting you and earning your trust and confidence.
