We would like to thank all of the patients who participated and joining in on the fight for oral cancer awareness!
April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month and we are inviting anyone and everyone to join in on our mission to spread awareness. On average, 50,000 people will be diagnosed with oral cancer. If we break this down into smaller, more comprehensible terms, that comes out to be around 135 people every day who are being diagnosed with oral cancer.
It is our goal to inform our patients about this oral cancer and the risks it may bring. Among the more common causes of this disease, such as the use of tobacco or smoking cigarettes, the fastest growing type of oral cancer is being spread through the HIV virus. There is very nothing that can be done to prevent the spread of this disease, but we can all work together to inform our fellow friends and family. This topic is something that has spread like wildfire through the media during the month of April and promoting anyone and everyone to get screened!
